The State Committee for Scientific Research by its resolution of September 16th  2004 awarded the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology the status of Centre of Excellence in the field of  Social Science ( Modernization and its influence on social integration and the development of human resources Modern SPO). This project in addition to research groups also involves the educational programmes of the Institute: The Graduate School for Social Research/Centre for Social Studies

The Graduate School for Social Research of the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology is the first Institute of the Polish Academy of Sicences  to receive an ERASMUS CHARTER FOR 2007-2013
